WGC-Bridgestone Invitational: Top five sleepers in the Firestone CC field
Don’t let the gray hair in the photo above fool you, the 37-year-old Ross Fisher is still plenty spry.
He’s been phenomenal in the WGCs this season, tying for third behind the formidable pair of Dustin Johnson and Tommy Fleetwood in Mexico and advancing to the Match Play quarterfinals.
Short of a win, Ross Fisher has done it all this year with a T3 at the Shenzhen International (placing behind the winner and No. 1 in my sleepers this week) and a T9 at the BMW PGA Championship, Europe’s flagship event. He also made the cut in two of three majors this year, including a T44 in his last start at The Open diminished by a Sunday 75.
Fisher is 13th on the European Tour in greens in regulation. If a few putts roll in, he could be in line for his first worldwide win since 2014.
