Atthaya Thitikul

Grouping includes: Annabel Dimmock, Camilla Lennarth

She’s already done it once.

The 14-year-old Thitikul won the Ladies European Tour Thailand Championship last month. In the process, she made history as the youngest golfer to win a Ladies European Tour event, beating out superstar Lydia Ko’s previous mark.

She told The Golf Channel that focusing on her game, and not the leaderboard, helped her win the inaugural tournament.

"I was nervous at the first tee. But I didn’t think about the scores. I just focused on my shots and only on my caddie. I didn’t expect to win this tournament as I just came here to learn techniques from the pro players on the Ladies European."

What golfers do in Pattaya, Thailand in July is not exactly the same as on British soil in August, but the victory should only breed more confidence.

As for turning pro, in that same interview, she said she needs a few years to gather more experience.

Be very afraid, LPGA entrants.

Be very afraid.
