Anna Nordqvist was rightly Annika Sörenstam’s first of four wild card picks. Nordqvist is the highest ranked player on the Team Europe roster and failed to qualify for the team because of illness.

Over her 4-event Solheim Cup career Nordqvist had enjoyed success paired with Suzann Pettersen in fourballs and foursomes matches and she’s defeated Stacy Lewis in singles.

It’s worth remembering that Anna Nordqvist made Solheim Cup history with her 2013 ace. Here it is again, just for fun!

The depth of her match play experience and her exceptional sense of fair play will go a long way toward putting whatever lingering echoes of unpleasantness remain from the Suzann Pettersen-Alison Lee debacle aside and moving forward in the spirit of the game.

Expect Nordqvist to set the tone and the pace for Team Europe.
