Meet the 15th Solheim Cup Team USA players as they prepare to take the field at Des Moines Golf and Country Club.

The 15th edition of the biennial Solheim Cup, the most prestigious event in women’s golf, will be contended at Des Moines Golf and Country Club August 18-20. Of the 14 matches that have taken place since the inaugural 1990 event at Lake Nona Golf and Country Club, the Americans have won 9 and the Europeans 5 times.

The agreed-upon match play format involves 28 separate competitions played over a 3-day period. Two-player American and European teams will face off in four foursomes/alternate shots and four fourball/better ball matches on Friday and again on Saturday. The entire American and European squads will take the field on Sunday for 12 singles matches.

While American and European teams are selected by slightly different criteria, the result is essentially the same. The best 12 players from the United States and from Europe meet in a three-day, head-to-head golf extravaganza that engages players and fans alike in a frenzy of enthusiasm.

Team USA, which has 9 returning Solheim Cup veterans and 3 rookies, is captained by Hall of Famer Juli Inkster, back for a second year by popular demand.

Let’s meet Team USA!
