Solheim Cup: Team USA ready to defend at Des Moines

Cristie Kerr is making her 9th Solheim Cup performance this year. She’s the seasoned veteran on the team and a consistently reliable performer for Team USA. She’s successfully teamed with Michelle Wie, Paula Creamer, Morgan Pressel, and Lexi Thompson in foursomes and fourball matches.

Kerr has played against and defeated most of the experienced members of Team Europe, including Suzann Pettersen, Karine Icher, Azahara Muñoz, and Charley Hull. She’s halved matches with Mel Reid and Carlota Ciganda.

Look for Kerr to be paired with Lexi Thompson for the fourball and foursomes matches. They played as a deadly juggernaut at St. Leon-Rot in 2015.

Cristie Kerr knows the enemy and, like Stacy Lewis, Kerr will set the performance standard and help the more powerful Team USA avoid the fatal mistake of overconfidence.
