Brittany Lang will be making her 5th Solheim Cup appearance at Des Moines. With three top-20 finishes in April and May, Lang looked to be warming up for a successful season, but she’s not been able to follow through and deliver an improved performance in more recent events.

Lang has successfully paired with Brittany Lincicome and Gerina Piller in fourballs competition but she has not established a strong record that includes other members of the 2017 team. Lang seems to play a better fourballs than foursomes game.

Lang’s strength this year is not the power of her ball-striking or the precision of her putting but her deep Solheim Cup experience and her understanding of team play tactics.

Look for a pairing with Brittany Lincicome for one of the foursomes matches, likely on Friday so Captain Inkster can get a feel for the Lang-Lincicome team dynamic, but also look for a Saturday pairing with one of the rookies. I can see Lang coming alive teamed up with Austin Ernst.
