The U.S. Open was nail biting and fun to watch in 2015. Spieth would win his second straight major after the now famous three putt by Dustin Johnson at Chambers Bay.

Not only was the tournament a dandy, but it took place on one of the most controversial and beautiful courses in major history. 2016 was fun but it was a tournament where Johnson was playing great, and in the end, would win by a few shots. This, despite a terrible penalty that occurred.

The 2017 U.S. Open held at Erin Hills was faced with controversy afterward, with the scores being so low. This is unusual for a U.S. Open, being famous for being the toughest tournament in all of golf.

However, it’s hard to deny that it was an exciting tournament. The low scores seem to blind us from how tight the event was.

It’s was one of those majors that anyone could’ve won. After the great play of Justin Thomas and Brian Harmon, who knew Brooks Koepka was going to come out on top?

So, the U.S. Open makes a solid case as well. Were the last three years enough?
