If we were doing our PGA TOUR “best names” power rankings, Seamus Power wins mine hands down, every time. Of course, that’s not what we’re doing, but he’s quickly climbing up the ranks of the TOUR, as well.

A graduate of the Web.com Tour and 2016 Olympian from Ireland, Power is making the most of his first year on the main stage. With three top-25 finishes (and a 26th place outing at the Barracuda Championship), Power has the benefit of playing the Wyndham with his Playoff ticket already in hand.

In Power’s first trip to Sedgefield, there are plenty of things to look forward to. While the results haven’t always been spectacular, he’s growing into his own with every passing week. He ranks 48th on TOUR in par-breakers, 11th in par-5 scoring, and 26th in par-4 scoring. If he sustains those numbers, the results will inevitably follow.

This week, Power has a chance to do more than solidify his Playoff positioning. He can lock up his TOUR card for next season, and all it takes is a decent performance in his one more tournament.

Power is on his way to becoming a steady presence on the PGA TOUR. This week should give us a good look at what he’s capable of when the pressure is on.
