The basic premise of Daily Fantasy Golf is simple – maximize the return on your investment, and try to figure out what the most likely outcome of any given pick will be. Tony Finau has been making this simple for his owners in 2017.

Averaging 73.4 DraftKings points per start this season, and with a salary of just $7,300 this week, he hits the high end of the points-per-hundred ratio, and in this ultra top-heavy field, every value pick you can find is magnified.

Of course, that’s not to say that Finau is only in our lineup for price purposes. As much of a bonus as that is, we don’t take anybody who we don’t think has the potential to give a solid return. Ranked 28th in the FedEx Cup points race, Finau is comfortable, but he can’t afford to take any weeks off between now and the Tour Championship.

Finau has the strength to keep up with the 7,300-yard track at Glen Oaks, but he’s more than just a long driver of the ball. Finau also ranks tenth on TOUR in greens-in-regulation percentage, 11th in birdie average and 15th in adjusted scoring.

One comparison to look for here could be the Old White TPC at the Greenbrier. Both are par-70 tracks, measuring around 7,300 yards in tournament conditions. That would be a good place for Finau to go, as he shot four rounds under-par there in July on his way to a top ten finish.
