The FedEx Cup Playoffs begin this week at The NORTHERN TRUST, but these ten players have earned their advantage with huge regular season success.

The long PGA TOUR season has finally drawn to a close. 47 tournaments over nearly a full year, and all that’s left standing is 125 of the top players on the PGA TOUR this year. All have locked in their memberships for the 2017-18 season, and now they turn their sights to the FedEx Cup Playoffs. Four events over the course of five weeks, with a $10 million prize going to the season’s champion at East Lake in Atlanta.

While all 125 golfers have a chance at the title, only 30 will survive to play at the Tour Championship. The points a player can earn in the Playoffs quadruples, which can lead to some big shake-ups, but there’s no doubt that some have a tremendous advantage from the start. The top ten players in the regular-season rankings are all locks to head to the Tour Championship, each with varying potential depending on what happens between now and then.

The top five players at East Lake will have a straightforward mission: win, and you’re the FedEx Cup Champion. The other 25 will need some kind of help along the way. Either way, this all builds to a dramatic “finale” on a golf calendar that never really stops anymore.

With The NORTHERN TRUST (TOUR-stylization included) set to begin on Thursday, we’re breaking down the top ten players in the Playoffs, and their potential to win it all. We’ll have plenty of different angles over the next three weeks, but if you’re looking for a potential champion, this is where we start.

Let’s jump into it with number ten, Brian Harman.
