European Tour: D+D REAL Czech Masters Power Rankings
Lee Westwood has been a cut-making machine in 2017, but it’s been a little disheartening to see the 44-year-old struggle to get into contention on Sunday.
He’s 15-for-17 making the weekend with two top-10s, but is seeking his first worldwide victory since April 2015.
In his defense, Westwood has been dealing with a separation from longtime manager, Chubby Chandler. He’s also in the midst of a potential divorce payout to his ex-wife.
He’ll look to use the golf course as a respite this week in his first start since a T-67 at the PGA Championship.
Westwood tied for 27th in his first trip to the Czech Masters in 2016. Breaking from the norm to play in a lower-rung tournament this week could be the diversion the Englishman needs to get in the mix Sunday afternoon. As arguably the most accomplished player in the field, Westwood could flex his muscles and let his iron play push him to the top of what expects to be a birdie fest this week.
