Chris Kirk needs a high finish this week to vault from No. 95 inside the top 70. Good thing for him is he’s used TPC Boston as his personal ATM the past three years.

Headlined by a win here in 2014, Kirk has raked in over $1.5 million in that span. His other finishes at the Dell Technologies Championship include a T29 in 2015 and a T33 in 2016.

Kirk has been able to stay injury-free in 2017 and has reaped modest results for it. He tied for 40th last week to make it this far and also picked up a T18 recently at the Barracuda Championship.

Kirk hasn’t had a ton of chances against elite fields. He missed the cut at his only major, the PGA, but showed well tying for 12th at THE PLAYERS Championship with two weekend rounds under par.

The former Georgia Bulldog came here in 2014 seeking an American Ryder Cup team spot. It ultimately went to Horschel, but Kirk showed his mettle. Needing not much short of a win to advance to the next round of the playoffs, I like Kirk’s ballstriking (46th in greens in regulation) to hold up well.
