A strong field is assembled this week at one of the European Tour’s more picturesque stops on the schedule

The European Tour is at one if its staple events this week for the Omega European Masters hosted at Crans-sur-Sierre in Switzerland.

The Tournament has been affiliated with the European Tour since 1972 and has been played regularly dating back to the 1920s.

The winners list is a who’s who of historic players: Seve Ballesteros (3), Nick Price, Nick Faldo, José María Olazábal and Colin Montgomerie are a few who have hoisted the trophy here.

Another capable winner could emerge this week as six world top-50 players are in the field.

Whoever wins will have to be prepared to make birdies. The winning score at Crans-sur-Sierre has not been worse than 13-under-par since 1981. In the last five years, the average score has been 263.8, roughly 16-under at this par-70, 6,848-yard course filled with breathtaking mountainous views.

Without further delay, here’s a look at ten players who could get in the mix to win this weekend.
