BMW Championship Power Rankings: Top ten at Conway Farms
One of the best qualities you can have as a golfer is consistency. Whether it’s mental or physical, when you know what you’re going to get out of a player, more often than not, it ends up being a very good thing for their results on the course.
Enter Justin Rose, who comes into the BMW Championship having finished in tenth place for each of the first two FedEx Cup Playoff events. Now, obviously, two tournaments are not a statistical guarantee by any means, but it is a good sign that some of the things that may have been bothering the Olympic gold medalist at times this season are now behind him.
Rose’s back-to-back top-ten finishes in the Playoffs snapped a six-start run on the PGA TOUR in which Rose never finished higher than 54th. He’s been dealing with on-again, off-again back problems for a number of years, but it finally looks like Rose is comfortable again, and perhaps a win won’t be far behind.
Ranked 17th in the FedEx Cup, Rose won’t have to fear for his place in the Tour Championship, but it can never hurt to put some extra points on the board as the top-30 will endure the points reset before heading to East Lake. While we won’t know the exact formula until after the BMW Championship, it can only serve as additional motivation to break through that 10th place barrier.
Look for Rose to build on his last two starts, as well as his T13 finish from the 2015 BMW as play continues this weekend at Conway Farms.
