At 40 years of age, Paul Casey definitely brings the experience edge to the BMW Championship. As golf becomes more and more of a young sport, Casey is actually enjoying something of a resurgence at this later point of his career.

With eight top-ten finishes in 22 starts this season, Casey did basically everything he could do but win. Missing just one cut all year, Casey hasn’t finished any worse than 26th since the WGC Match Play back in March.

Casey enjoyed some success in his career at Conway Farms. Playing in the 2015 BMW Championship, Casey finished tied for 23rd place, with three rounds under par. Of course, that was just his second year spending the majority of his time on the PGA TOUR, so there’s a learning curve to be expected, even for a 38-year-old.

Not particularly long off the tee, Casey is earning his success the old fashioned way: hitting lots of greens, and converting his birdie opportunities at a solid clip. Hitting just over 70 percent of greens in regulation (third on TOUR), Casey ranks seventh in adjusted scoring, and 25th in birdie average. He’s also shot just three rounds over par in his last six starts, total. With just 70 golfers left, nothing is going to come easy, so it’s time to ride with the ones who have proven it all year long.
