Daniel Berger was one of the hottest players on the PGA TOUR in June and early July. He won the FedEx St. Jude Classic, then bounced back from a missed cut at Erin Hills, and looked like he had the Travelers Championship locked up. That he happened to run into the magic that Jordan Spieth always has tucked in his back pocket doesn’t take away from the overall performance.

Berger’s last top-ten finish came at July’s John Deere Classic, and since then, he’s got just one top-25 on TOUR. His scoring is down during that stretch, but his game hasn’t fallen apart or anything. His scrambling is actually better in the Playoffs than his season average (2nd vs. 23rd), and he ranks 16th in proximity on approach. The pieces are all there, he just needs to put the puzzle together a little faster.

Still, Berger represents tremendous value in an extremely top-heavy field at the BMW Championship. At just $7,500 on DraftKings, I view him as having a higher ceiling than most similarly-priced players, like Si Woo Kim and Ryan Moore. To win in daily fantasy this week, we’ll need to find those high-reward type players. With no cut, I’m not worried if Berger has one bad round that would cost him in other weeks.
