It’s okay if you haven’t thought much about the Aussie star recently, but it’s about time that you should. While superstars like Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas have kind of hogged all the headlines in golf recently, Leishman has put together a pretty fantastic 2017 season himself.

Leishman has worked his way up to seventh in the FedEx Cup points race, and is one of the few players outside the top five with a legitimate shot to move in this week. He’s peaking at the right time, too, with three top-tens in his last six starts. Coming off a solo third-place finish at the Dell Technologies Championship, it’s not hard to picture Leishman making a big push at Conway Farms.

He does have one go-round at Conway Farms under his belt, a T39 four years ago. That middling finish doesn’t bother me much considering Leishman’s recent hot streak, but I will count it in the “experience” column. As with so many other tournaments, especially with truly elite fields, every little edge helps.

Leishman ranks eighth on TOUR in adjusted scoring average, and according to Rob Bolton of PGATOUR.com, he’s third in greens in regulation during these Playoffs. That’s a fantastic combination for a relatively low DraftKings salary.
