Chez Reavie is likely one of the happier guys to have made it into the field this week. The 35-year-old Kansan (the Sunflower state is loving me for choosing Streb and Reavie) is making his first BMW Championship appearance since 2011. He hasn’t made it past the first round in that span but made it to the Tour Championship in 2008.

Reavie certainly earned his way to Lake Forest this year. He shook off a slow start to the season to reel off 10 straight made cuts in a row, most recently being a T61 two weeks ago at the Dell.

A T10 at The Northern Trust was most helpful in ascending Reavie to No. 46 this week. Another top-10 finish should have him in the hunt to advance to Atlanta.

In his cut streak, Reavie posted a season best T4 at the FedEx St. Jude Classic and was top 25 at the U.S. Open and PGA Championship.

Albeit at different courses, Reavie has handled the playoff pressure well at this event. He owns a T33 in 2008 and solo eighth in 2011.

Reavie is the straightest off the tee in the field and is No. 5 on Tour. He’s not a long hitter, but that shouldn’t be a big issue if his irons are firing well enough to give him modest looks at birdie on a gettable track for average length hitters.

He’s No. 37 in strokes gained putting and has certainly seen his share of bentgrass greens in his lifetime.
