Alfred Dunhill Links Championship Power Rankings
The Alfred Dunhill Links is on Ross Fisher’s schedule every year, and for good reason. He has four top-25s at this event, including two runner-up finishes. One of those came last year when he posted four rounds in the 60s to reach 19-under, only behind Tyrrell Hatton at a record-setting 23-under. Fisher set the 36-hole pace before Hatton separated with a 62 on Saturday.
Fisher is still in the mix to make a charge for the Race to Dubai title, but he’ll need to pick up his first top-30 since June this week to begin that path. In recent starts on links courses, Fisher placed T35 at the Scottish Open and T44 at The Open Championship.
I like the Englishman’s ball striking to hold up well at the tough Carnoustie and dial in at the more gettable Kingsbarns and St. Andrew’s. The greens are generally slow at this event, which should help an average putter like Fisher. He struggled at times on the greens on Sunday last year but was otherwise solid enough to win.
Fisher is coming off a missed cut last week at the British Masters. He was in good shape to see the weekend after a Thursday 67 but missed by three at one-over thanks to a 74 on Friday.
Fisher has six top-10s this year and is one of three in the Race to Dubai top 10 without a win. Don’t be surprised if he earns his first win since 2014 this week.
