Scott Piercy CIMB Classic Power Rankings

Scott Piercy is looking to get this comeback tour off to a hot start. After a tough showing at the Travelers Championship, with an MDF after a third-round 81, Piercy took three months away from the PGA TOUR. A Las Vegas native, Piercy has undoubtedly had a tough week, but he returned to action in solid form.

At the season-opening Safeway Open, Piercy looked solid in his return to action. He put together four straight rounds of par or better, and finished tied for 17th place. With the “first time back” nerves – if there were any – out of the way now, he returns to Kuala Lumpur for the CIMB Classic, which should provide some much-needed good vibes.

In his last eight rounds at the CIMB Classic, Piercy is a combined 32 under par, surprising when you consider that his last round was level par 72. He tied for 10th here last year, and tied for seventh in 2015, where he opened with a 10-under 62.

Does Piercy have more of that magic up his sleeve this week? This field isn’t quite as top-heavy as it’s been in years past, and while he has some tough competition, we could see another big performance in the 38-year-old’s comeback year.
