It’s all gravy for Tommy Fleetwood at this point in the year. With two wins and the No. 1 spot in the 2017 Race to Dubai standings, life’s good for the 26-year-old Englishman.

Fleetwood’s shown well at Milano Golf Club the last two years, collecting a T33 in 2015 and T7 in 2016. Five of his eight rounds here were in the 60s and all par or better.

After playing at or near 30 events in the last few years, Fleetwood has had the luxury of being more picky with his schedule. He’s played just 20 times in 2017 and should be rested for Italy as last week’s Alfred Dunhill Links Championship was his first start in nearly a month.

At the ADLC, Fleetwood tamed the beast that is Carnoustie for a course record 63. Ironically, Fleetwood wasn’t as sharp at the easier St. Andrew’s and Kingsbarns and settled for a T25 finish.

Fleetwood’s hitting over 77 percent of greens and over 70 percent of his fairways this season. He should be able to approach those rates this week to post another high finish in Italy, and perhaps build on his over €1 million lead in the Race to Dubai.
