For a guy who has trouble turning down events, it’s surprising to see Zac Blair hasn’t teed it up at the Sanderson Farms Championship since 2014, where he missed the cut. In his four years as a professional, he’s played 28 or more events each year and 32-plus the last three.

Most of those events have been on the PGA Tour, but those days could be numbered. Blair was unlucky No. 126 in the FedEx Cup standings last season and could use some good results to parlay his current partial status into something more substantial.

He’s made good on that goal so far with a respectable T30 finish at the Safeway Open last month. He was in contention in Napa through 36 holes before sliding back on the weekend.

Few will find the fairway as often as Blair this week (ninth in driving accuracy) and he is top-10 in putting from 20 feet and out.

Blair isn’t known to go crazy low, but this seems to be a course where he’ll at least have a lot of looks with the flat stick.

In 2017, Blair has made 18 of 27 cuts on the PGA Tour with one top-10 and three other top-30 finishes.
