Sanderson Farms Championship: Power Rankings
One of these days Jason Kokrak will be a PGA Tour winner; could this be the week? The 32-year-old Canadian has kept his card for six years now. The long hitter has five top-fives on the PGA Tour, two of which were runner-ups where he missed a playoff by one.
He’ll be among the favorites this week as he’s made plenty of cash in Mississippi in the past. Kokrak sat out the Sanderson Farms Championship in 2016, but tied for 20th in 2014 and tied for 12th in 2015. He’s a combined 21-under in eight rounds all under par with a closing eight-under 64 in 2015.
While known for his prowess off the tee (17th in driving distance in 2017-18), Kokrak was 10th in strokes gained around the green in his last start at the Safeway Open where he tied for 17th. If he can avoid sloppiness on and around the greens, I like Kokrak’s chances for another high finish.
In 2017, Kokrak is 17-for-24 in cuts made with a fourth-place finish at the AT&T Byron Nelson his best result.
