Sanderson Farms Championship: Power Rankings
Chesson Hadley regained his PGA Tour card and then some during his stint on the Web.com Tour in 2017. The 30-year-old won twice and finished second twice to get back to the big leagues.
Hadley has showed the form that led him to earn PGA Tour Rookie of the Year honors in 2014. He was in the mix to win at the Safeway Open where he tied for third just three shots off the pace. He’d like to redo his final round in Napa where he shot 73, but there’s plenty to be happy with, namely his course record 61 two days prior.
Despite his beanstalk frame, Hadley striped it 310.8 yards off the tee last season on the Web. He also hit 72.7 percent of greens in regulation and was 21st in putting average.
Hadley missed the cut in his only start at the Country Club of Jackson last year by one. A three-under 69 on Friday wasn’t enough to recover from an opening 74.
The former Georgia Tech Yellowjacket had two weeks to prepare for this event. He hasn’t had two or more weeks off since April, so it’ll be interesting to see how a little rest could help him out this week.
