Shriners Hospitals for Children Open Top 10 power rankings
Anirban Lahiri couldn’t get it done on Sunday in the first two events of the Asian swing, but the trip was still a resounding success. The 30-year-old Indian is back inside the world top 60 for the first time since June 2016 thanks to a T10 at the CIMB Classic and a T5 at the CJ Cup. Once he learns to calm the final round nerves — he was 115th in final round scoring last year and shot 74 and 71 in those two events — Lahiri has the talent to win on the PGA Tour.
With a week off to readjust to the American Pacific time, Lahiri will attempt to keep his form going at his first trip to the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. For 2017, Lahiri is 17-for-25 in cuts made with six top-10s, the best a T2 finish at The Memorial in June.
So far in 2018-19 on the PGA Tour, Lahiri is 21st in GIR (77.08 percent) and 15th in driving accuracy (75 percent). In this decade, the winning score has been 20-under or better all but once, so being able to stack birdies is important. Lahiri was 14th in birdie average in 2016-17.
