I’m rolling with a lot of hometown boys this week, and Ryan Moore is one of them. The UNLV grad and Las Vegas resident won this event in 2012 – and scored a pic with the original JT, as seen above.

He’s played the weekend in eight of 10 tries at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open: T85 in 2006, T54 in 2007 , T24 in 2008, T7 in 2009, MC in 2011, first in 2012, T9 in 2013, MC in 2014, T43 in 2015 and T15 in 2016.

The 34-year-old has had somewhat of a hushed 2017 season as he’s battled a shoulder injury. Still, he seems to have found his groove, a WD at the Dell Technologies Championship notwithstanding.

Moore tied for 13th at the PGA Championship and has been in the top 50 in every tournament he completed since. He tied for 17th in his last start at the Safeway Open and was only eight off the lead.

Proximity to the pin should be an important stat this week. Moore is 15th in approaches from 50-125 yards and 16th from 125-150. He’s in the top 100 in almost every proximity stat.
