Nedbank Golf Challenge Top 10 power rankings
Does Tyrrell Hatton have enough gas to get through the finish line in the Race to Dubai? All signs point toward yes as he tied for 16th at last week’s Turkish Airlines Open. He made €78,837 in what was actually his worst result in the last six tournaments.
In a span of eight weeks, he’s gone T3, T8, first, first, T11 and now T16. His wins came against strong fields at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and the Rolex Series’ Italian Open.
Hatton’s playing the best golf of his life, but he said a week off after the Italian Open has him recalibrating a bit. The results in the meantime as he tinkers are still pretty impressive.
“Yeah, obviously I take confidence from the wins but after a few days off, my week off after Italy, I kind of lost all the feelings I had with my swing,” Hatton said during the Turkish Airlines Open. “So I’m trying to find them again. China was a little bit of a struggle, although we finished tied 11th. So if I can feel more comfortable, then I should have a good run to the end of the year.”
He wasn’t pleased with his putter in Turkey, either, snapping it after the third round. If he’s not too worn down from his fall flourish, Hatton will hope to snap back this week.
Hatton made his Nedbank debut last year when he tied for 25th.
The 26-year-old can match Sergio García with three wins this season on the European Tour.
