Nedbank Golf Challenge Top 10 power rankings
Eddie Pepperell’s goal at the start of the year of retaining his European Tour card are a thing of the past; now he wants to win.
“It’s another top-10, and while I’m getting a bit sick of that and not winning, it’s not a bad place to be,” Pepperell said after tying for sixth at the Turkish Airlines Open.
Pepperell isn’t far from claiming his maiden European Tour victory. He’s placed in the top-10 six times in his last seven starts, three of them top-fives.
Usually it’s Sundays that give younger players like Pepperell, 26, fits, but he’s been excellent in the final round. Here’s a breakdown of his last six Sundays going earliest to latest, accompanied by shots finished off the lead:
68/5, 65/2, 68/5, 65/11, 66/5, 67/4
The case against him is this will be his first trip to Sun City and he has missed his last four cuts playing in South Africa. With that said, he’s gotten it done at all sorts of courses in recent weeks and appears closer to winning this week than missing the top 50.
