RSM Classic Power Rankings: Top ten at Sea Island
Si Woo Kim is making his third RSM Classic appearance The 22-year-old South Korean is one of the most talented players in the field this week, though off-and-on back issues and youthful inconsistency has made success hard to come by since his breakthrough PLAYERS Championship win in May.
The ship is starting to sail back in the right direction again. Kim was in the 60s all four days en route to a solo third-place finish at last week’s OHL Classic, his first top-10 since TPC Sawgrass. At the OHL, Kim’s final round six-under 65 tied for low round on Sunday.
In his first two trips to Sea Island, Kim tied for 18th in 2015 and missed the cut last year.
There isn’t a ton statistically in Kim’s favor this week, but all parts of his game seem to elevate when he’s healthy and motivated. It’ll be interesting to see if last week’s result was a flash in the pan or a sign he’s ready to turn another corner and become an elite player.
