Webb Simpson has played some solid golf since August. Three top-10s helped him get to the TOUR Championship. Now in the fall, Simpson tied for 17th at the Safeway Open and tied for 20th in his last start two weeks ago at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.

The 32-year-old has come close to claiming the RSM Classic trophy in years past. He lost to Ben Crane in a playoff in 2011 and tied for seventh in 2013. He’s 5-for-5 making the cut at this event and tied for 36th in 2016.

In the fall, Simpson is top 50 in strokes gained categories off-the-tee, approach-the-green and putting. His short game hasn’t followed suit (142nd strokes gained around-the-green), but that expects to come around as it was his strength last season (14th).

Simpson withdrew from last week’s OHL Classic at Mayakoba, but there aren’t any signs indicating at problems on the horizon for this week.

Growing up in North Carolina, Simpson shouldn’t be too taken aback putting on bermuda this week.
