It’s easy to allow recency bias to cloud our vision, but Grace has done plenty to prove he’s an elite player who can win wherever he tees it up. Winning last week at the Nedbank Golf Challenge in his native South Africa, Grace comes into the week with a good resume in Dubai, too.

He owns three top-10s in five starts, his best being solo third place in 2015. Grace tied for 27th last year.

Grace’s recent form beyond the Nedbank shows a T47 at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, T32 at the CIMB Classic, T15 at the CJ Cup and T15 at the WGC-HSBC Champions. Nothing out of this world, but he’s showed he’s got things dialed in as more tournaments in South Africa are on the horizon in December and January.

Grace hasn’t been elite in any statistical category on the European Tour this season except for scrambling (23rd). With that said, he’s not woeful in any area, either. It’ll take a well-rounded effort to win this week and Grace could do it again here in Dubai.
