This week is the last chance for players to improve their playing status heading into the 2018 West Coast swing

The RSM Classic this week in St. Simons Island, Georgia, feels like the end of the season. In reality, the 2017-18 wraparound schedule is only getting started. But with silly season events composing the next couple months, this event has a sense of finality to it as we head into the holidays.

There’s some finality for Web.com Tour graduates aiming to position themselves favorably for the rest of the season. A reshuffle occurs after this week and lasts through the Genesis Open in mid February. If you’re a rookie or Web grad who played poorly in a handful of starts in the fall, this event suddenly becomes very important.

I’ll be steering clear of players who would appear to have a lot of weight on their shoulders. Some will rise to the occasion, but it’s easier said than done. I’ve got five players picked out who aren’t getting too much love this week.
