As we embark on the second week of the 2018 European Tour season, let’s take a look back at Ryan Fox’s stellar rookie campaign:

The 30-year-old New Zealander missed only eight cuts, recorded five top-10 finishes, competed at the Open Championship and finished 34th in the final Race to Dubai standings.

Fox’ last start came a couple weeks ago at the DP World Tour Championship where he tied for 28th out of 60. He didn’t play his best golf in the Final Series, but he comes to a site of past success this week at Royal Pines. After missing the cut in 2013, Fox tied for 11th in 2014, tied for 26th in 2015 and was solo ninth last year.

He was in the mix headed into the weekend in 2016 before carding closing rounds of 73 and 72 to finish 12 shots adrift.

Few hit the ball as well as Fox in 2017, as demonstrated by his 318.18-yard average off the tee and 72.66 percent greens in regulation mark. He can spray the ball (47.12 percent driving accuracy), which isn’t ideal for potentially wet conditions, though the rough is manageable if he can avoid the hazards.
