Turning 24 later this month, Gavin Green has already ticked off a few accomplishments in his young pro career. The Malaysian won on the Asian Tour and accompanied it with four runner-up finishes. He leads the Asian Tour order of merit by over $100,000 USD, which is no small margin.

Green also earned valuable experience teeing it up for all three legs of the PGA Tour’s Asian swing this fall. He finished on the upper half of the leaderboard at the WGC-HSBC Champions where he tied for 38th.

He was the first amateur to win on the Asian Development Tour in 2014 and rose to No. 12 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking while playing collegiately at the University of New Mexico.

This will be Green’s first Joburg Open start, but it’s everyone’s first crack this week at Randpark so that levels things out a bit.

In his European Tour starts, Green hit over 70 percent of his greens and averaged 1.69 putts per GIR.
