The CareerBuilder Challenge is certain to live up to its reputation as a scoring party this week. What does that mean for your DraftKings fantasy lineup?

The CareerBuilder Challenge tees off this Thursday, the second full-field event of the 2018 calendar season. It’s also one of the most unique events on the PGA TOUR schedule, playing as a pro-am with a three course rotation throughout the week. The best players on TOUR will face off at La Quinta Country Club, and both the Jack Nicklaus and Stadium Courses at PGA West.

All three of the tracks in play are fairly standard par-72 setups, and none of them are particularly challenging compared to the usual TOUR layouts the rest of the season. As such, this event often turns into a birdie bonanza. The winning score hasn’t been any higher than 20-under in a decade, and twice hit an absolutely ridiculous -30. Pat Perez (-33) accomplished that feat back in 2009, and Bill Haas (-30) did it one year later.

The weather is not expected to be a significant factor this week, with high temperatures in the mid-70s each of Thursday and Friday, before cooling into the upper 60s on the weekend. In short, the ball will be flying off the tee all week, making approach shots (and targeting specific distances) the key that will separate players down the stretch.

As usual, a few disclaimers before we get into the rankings. My salaries come from DraftKings standard pricing; if you play on a different site or with a different format, your values may differ. We work within the $50,000 salary cap, and as long as I can help it, each of the five players selected will fit together into your overall six-player roster. Hey, good or bad, we can’t give everything away, right? And of course, overall, it’s your team. This is simply a guide.

With that, let’s jump into the week’s fantasy rankings.
