James Hahn CareerBuilder Challenge DraftKings
HONOLULU, HI – JANUARY 14: James Hahn of the United States plays his shot from the 17th tee during the final round of the Sony Open In Hawaii at Waialae Country Club on January 14, 2018 in Honolulu, Hawaii. (Photo by Gregory Shamus/Getty Images) /

They say that momentum and motivation are overrated in golf – after all, the absolute best players in the world have to have an ultra-short memory, one that allows them to put an errant shot behind them almost instantly. This is certainly true to some degree, but I expect James Hahn to buck that theory this week at the CareerBuilder Challenge.

Of course, Hahn shot a blistering 62 just three days ago at Waialae in the final round of the Sony Open. It was good enough to carry him into a playoff with Patton Kizzire, and although the two went neck and neck for five holes, Hahn fell just a bit shy of his third PGA TOUR victory.

Hahn hasn’t made the trip to the California desert in either of the last two seasons, so this year’s rotation will be new to him, but he has had his share of success in this event over the years. He’s made the cut in all three years that he’s played, including a T-20 finish in 2015, his last visit.

The product of Cal Berkeley has all the tools, and he’ll be motivated to make this week’s run count when he fell just short last week. I’m banking on that happening, and at $8,300, he should give you a solid return on your investment.
