At the ripe age of 23, Matt Fitzpatrick has won four times on the European Tour. I’m not sure if he gets enough credit for his resume to date.

Nonetheless, the former Northwestern University Wildcat looks poised for another successful year in 2018. In 2017, Fitzpatrick won the Omega European Masters and earned four more top-10s en route to finishing 12th in the Race to Dubai.

With the UBS Hong Kong Open in late November as his last start, Fitzpatrick finished 2017 in the top 20 in 11 straight starts. Two of those events were in the Rolex Series, one was a WGC and three were Race to Dubai Final Series events.

With a month-and-a-half off it will be interesting to see if he can keep up his hot streak. Next week’s Omega Dubai Desert Classic, where he’ll be off to next, has yielded him better success, but he’ll have a chance to win some money here, too.

He posted three rounds in red figures in 2016 to finish T26 for his best finish in three starts in Abu Dhabi. Fitzpatrick was in the top 50 last season in driving accuracy, greens in regulation and putts per round.
