DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES – JANUARY 26: Dylan Frittelli of South Africa plays his second shot on the par 5, 10th hole during the second round of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic on the Majlis Course at Emirates Golf Club on January 26, 2018 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Dylan Frittelli has quietly become one of South Africa’s top golfers. At the moment, only major champions Louis Oosthuizen and Charl Schwartzel as well as multiple tournament winner Branden Grace have better resumes than the Johannesburg native.

Frittelli will be teeing it up at the Masters come April, but for now he’s gunning for his third career European Tour victory in two years.

The 27-year-old won last year at the Mauritius Open and the Lyoness Open.

Frittelli is a solid all-around player. He was 42nd in sand saves, 35th in GIR and 20th in distance last year on the European Tour. There are few, if any, glaring weaknesses in his game, and it’s showing in his steadily improving list of accomplishments.

Coming into the week, Frittelli was 20th at the BMW South African Open, tied for 19th in Abu Dhabi and tied for sixth in Dubai for a combined 36-under-par.

This will be his Maybank Championship debut, and we expect it to be a fantastic maiden voyage.
