The Waste Management Phoenix Open is one of the most fun stops on the PGA TOUR calendar. It’s also big fun for daily fantasy golf players. Who should you put on your DraftKings roster this week?

The Waste Management Phoenix Open has a garbage name – literally – but it’s legitimately one of the most fun events on the PGA TOUR. What’s the only thing that can make it more fun? A little bit of (responsible) gambling, courtesy of some fantastic daily fantasy golf. It’s a Super Bowl weekend tradition unlike any other. Well, except the big game, but that’s not until Sunday night, anyway.

This week’s field is filled with some of the game’s biggest stars, and we’ve got some ridiculously inflated prices to go along with them. Five of the top players in the world carry five figure salaries on DraftKings this week, and as much as we’d all love to carry a roster with Jon Rahm, Jordan Spieth and Hideki Matsuyama on it, it’s just not mathematically possible.

So what’s the smart DFS player to do? Look for value plays, which are also abundant at TPC Scottsdale. There’s a lot to balance, especially when you consider the fact that the course was redone in 2014. Scoring averages have been steadily decreasing on the Weiskopf signature design over the past three years, and the chance for this week’s winner to push towards -20 is definitely in play.

Before we start, our usual reminder: this is a value-based list. We use DraftKings rules (six players, $50,000 cap) and every player listed will fit under the cap on a standard roster. You may need to adjust if you play on a different site, but the analysis is still there. And, of course, play responsibly.

There’s no other event like the WMPO, and it’s going to be a ton of fun to watch the world’s best battle it out. Who should you put on your fantasy roster this week? Let’s jump in.
