The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am brings out the best of the best from the pros and amateurs. Which celebrities bring both the star power and the game to the Monterey Peninsula?

There’s an old adage that rock stars dream of being athletes, and athletes dream of being rock stars. When the two get together, as they will at this week’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, the atmosphere turns into something you can’t really recreate in either of their respective venues. Galleries get a little looser, and so do the pros in the field – until the real money is on the line, that is.

With 156 amateurs each paired with a PGA TOUR professional this week at the resort courses of Pebble Beach, who actually brings the most crossover clout, though? A large number of this week’s amateurs are – no shocker – relatively bland CEOs and Presidents of big corporations. No disrespect to Doug Parker of American Airlines, but fans probably aren’t clamoring to see him tee off as much as they are for Wayne Gretzky.

Here, we’re taking a look at five celebrities who are tied to golf almost as much as the careers that made them famous in the first place. These aren’t your typical weekend hackers, but people whose passion for golf shines through. Making golf “cool” hasn’t been a problem over the last 20 years, but this still goes a long way.

The galleries will be going crazy for these “amateurs”, and it’s only going to get better when they start draining birdies. Let’s get started.
