Dustin Johnson’s win at the 2017 Genesis Open began the first of three wins in as many events. It wouldn’t be surprising if he did it again.

DJ is already a winner in the 2017-18 season after his romp at the Sentry Tournament of Champions. Since then, DJ tied for ninth in Abu Dhabi on the European Tour and nearly won again last week at Pebble Beach (T2).

At Riviera, Johnson posted 17-under in 2017 to win by five. His 267 total was the lowest since Mike Weir posted it in 2004 and is the lowest since Lanny Wadkins posted the current record of 264 in 1985.

Past performances at the Genesis Open show DJ is no one-trick pony. He’s missed the cut just twice in 10 starts. More impressive are his five top-fives and another top-10. This event’s been on his schedule every year since 2008, so you know he’ll feel comfortable this week.

If you’re a better it will be hard to get great value on Johnson this week, but there isn’t another player in the field I’d pick if my life depended on it.
