The Genesis Open is a star-studded event, and that adds some unique twists to your fantasy golf strategy. Check out some of the surprising names to make our DraftKings value board this week.

The Genesis Open is one of the biggest events of the early PGA TOUR calendar, no question about it. This week, you’ve got basically every big name in golf in action. From Dustin Johnson and Jordan Spieth to Justin Thomas and Rory McIlroy, they’re all here.

Oh, and there’s that Tiger Woods fellow, too. This week, he’s taking on double duty as both tournament host, as well as teeing it up for a few rounds. No big deal.

Of course, for the savvy daily fantasy player, that brings up plenty of challenges. It’s tempting to just plug in a guy like DJ – he’s hot, he’s the all-time money leader at Rivera, and he’s the defending champion. But, with all those accolades comes a skyrocketing price tag, to the tune of $11,900.

That’s the type of risk-reward play that can make or break a week. If he dominates, as he did last year, the rest of your lineup hardly matters. If he stumbles even a little – even if he wins – you may have been able to find more value elsewhere. That’s where we’re going to spend our time, since you don’t need me to tell you how good DJ is.

As usual, we’re working with DraftKings standard rules and pricing, including six players and a $50,000 salary cap. Every player in has been chosen to fit on the same roster, but the guidelines should translate to pretty much any site and rule set. Players are presented from lowest to highest salary, not necessarily in a true “power ranking”.

The Genesis Open is going to be a fun week, and we’re hoping that some (responsible, of course) gaming can make it that much better for you. Let’s jump into this week’s rankings.
