PERTH, AUSTRALIA – FEBRUARY 11: Lucas Herbert of Australia chips onto the green in the semi final match against Kiradech Aphibarnrat of Thailand during day four of the World Super 6 at Lake Karrinyup Country Club on February 11, 2018 in Perth, Australia. (Photo by Will Russell/Getty Images) /

Lucas Herbert appears to have made the jump from the PGA Tour of Australasia to the European Tour in the blink of an eye.

That’ll happen when you record five top-10s in your last six starts. The latest came at the World Super 6 Perth where he made it to the semifinals of the knockout stage.

He also tied for sixth, one spot ahead of Jordan Spieth, at the Australian Open. Against a strong field at the Australian PGA, Herbert tied for seventh.

The 22-year-old is now the ninth-ranked Australian golfer and inside the world top 200. All he needs is a win.

Could this be the week?

He has the distance to overpower the 7,365-yard Al Mouj course. Plus, with a lot of the field seeing this course for the first time, Herbert’s inexperience should prove less costly.
