Richie Ramsay has been a regular on the weekends lately. The 34-year-old Scot is 4-for-4 in his last events with a cut and is just a couple weeks removed from his Sunday eight-under-par 64 that vaulted him to a T6 in Dubai.

Ramsay showed a lot of promise in the latter half of 2017 as he collected three top-10s, including a T2 at the Irish Open. Before too long, Ramsay could win for the fourth time on the European Tour and the first time since 2015.

He should have plenty of birdie looks this week as he enters 10th in GIR. Even if he’s not, his short game (42nd in scrambles) can keep him from disaster.

Ramsey does not consider himself an early season player, so these results could be a sign of better things to come.

“I came out to Dubai early with my coach Ian Rae and I think that’s been an integral part of me playing well,” Ramsay said in a story from the BBC.
