Golf is awash with storylines these days. Whether it’s Justin Thomas, DJ, Phil, Tiger or whoever, there’s no shortage of players to talk about.

Don’t forget about Justin Rose.

He’s fifth in the world and quietly racked up the cash by winning three times worldwide at the end of 2017.

Now in 2018, he’s kept a low profile with just two starts. His last was a solid T8 at the Farmers Insurance Open four weeks ago.

He’ll be fresh to begin his run to Augusta where he’s got to feel like he can break through and win for the first time.

In the meantime, Rose would like to break through in Mexico where he tied for 38th last year. He hit the ball well (13th in GIR) but couldn’t get a putt to drop to wind up with a milquetoast 70-72-71-71 string of scores.

Considering Rose finished eighth on Tour last season in parbreakers, I like Rose’s chances. Last year feels like a low baseline result.
