It appears to be between Alex Noren, Tommy Fleetwood, and Tyrrell Hatton as far as which European Tour star is next to win his first PGA Tour event.

The 2017 Race to Dubai champion on the European Tour, Fleetwood, is hoping to tear it up on this side of the pond as well. The 27-year-old Englishman was in the lead for large swaths of time Sunday at the Honda Classic.

He settled for a solo fourth-place finish, his best result in a PGA Tour-sanctioned event since the 2017 WGC-Mexico.

Speaking of Mexico, a lot of PGA Tour fans got to know Fleetwood when he gave Dustin Johnson chase.

He drained a long birdie on No. 18 to cap off his second straight round of 66 and send the gallery into a frenzy. Fleetwood was perfect all week from the sand and had no glaring errors to go with his fantastic ball striking.

Fleetwood could generate more roars of he keeps up his form that’s made him a Ryder Cup lock.

He won and tied for sixth at two relatively prestigious European Tour events in the United Arab Emirates. Making the leap to American-style tracks didn’t sway him too much as he posted a respectable T37 at the Genesis two weeks ago.
