A lot of American golf fans got to know Jon Rahm at his win at the 2017 Farmers Insurance Open. It was apparent he was growing into a star when he nearly caught Dustin Johnson to win that year’s WGC-Mexico Championship.

Rahm ran out of gas to settle for a T3 finish, but it didn’t slow down his elite run of golf. He’s up to No. 2 in the world with a win in 2018 at the CareerBuilder Challenge already under his belt.

He was able to bash his way around Chapultepec by hitting it far, chopping out and getting hot with his putter. That formula could certainly get it done for a win this week.

Rahm will need to improve upon his current standing at 100th on Tour in rough proximity, but he’s certainly got the talent to do so.

The 23-year-old Spaniard comes in fresh after two weeks away from competition. The last time he took such rest in-season resulted in a win at the DP World Tour Championship on the European Tour.
