Valspar Championship

Like Sergio Garcia in the No. 4 slot on this list, Rose is easing his way back into the PGA Tour grind.

After a solid season debut for a T8 at the Farmers Insurance Open, Rose took four weeks off before last week’s WGC-Mexico Championship. A T37 certainly wasn’t his best work, but a Sunday 67 is encouraging.

At this point, there aren’t many PGA Tour venues the 37-year-old Rose hasn’t seen. This will be his 10th trip to Palm Harbor and first since 2015.

He’s missed the cut at the Valspar only once and has nine top-30 finishes. Not. too. shabby.

Rose was in contention to win here in 2011 en route to a T5.

In a small sample size, Rose is sixth this season in driving distance, fourth in birdie average and ninth in strokes gained off-the-tee.

If Rose is on his game this week, few in this week’s field have the overall game to match.
