Arnold Palmer Invitational Power Rankings: Top ten at Bay Hill
Now past his odd Volvik golf ball experiment, Bubba Watson is back to winning tournaments. His win at the Genesis Open has him back in the world top 40. He followed it up with a T9 against a strong field at the WGC-Mexico Championship.
He’s back to his old habits of overpowering golf courses and sinking timely putts. Watson’s eighth on Tour in strokes gained off-the-tee and a reasonable 39th in strokes gained putting.
Watson’s played well at Bay Hill before. His career best was a T4 in 2012, one of four top-25s in 10 starts. The lefty withdraw in 2014, but has not missed a cut since 2010. He was T34 in 2017.
If anyone is trying to peak for this portion of the schedule, it’s Bubba. He’s gunning for this third green jacket next month at Augusta.
Another high finish, and he’ll climb further up bettors Masters boards.
