Arnold Palmer Invitational Power Rankings: Top ten at Bay Hill
Tommy Fleetwood has done well to silence many of those who doubted his ability to compete in the US as he had on Europe. A win could quiet the rest of them.
He’s at his peak at No. 10 in the world in large part to three European Tour wins since 2017. Also, it’s because he was in contention to take fourth place at the Honda Classic and tied for 14th against a talented field at the WGC-Mexico Championship.
He also tied for 10th at the API in 2017, even with a 78 (!) in round one. Assuming he’s got the first-round jitters out of his system, watch out.
Fleetwood has the makeup to play well here. He led the European Tour in GIR in 2017 and is second this season on the PGA Tour in approaches from 200-plus yards.
